Heath and Safety at Work

Produce a report to include:
1. risk assessments for the school science lab
2. health and safety checks in the workplace
3. risk assessments for activities performed in the workplace
4. what can be done to prevent accidents from hazards in a scientific workplace
5. emergency procedures to be followed if an accident from these hazards happens.

For the highest marks you need to compare procedures in school and in the work place and identify and use a wide range of sources and information

Fire Safety

Produce a Fire Safety leaflet to include the following information:
1. what must be done if you hear a fire alarm or smoke alarm
2. what must be done if you find a fire
3. how fire doors function
4. why different types of fire extinguisher (water, carbon dioxide, dry powder, foam, a fire-blanket) are used on different types of fire
5. about the use of automatic sprinkler systems.

First Aid

Produce a First Aid booklet to include the following information:
1. heat burns and scalds
2. chemical burns
3. breathing in fumes
4. swallowing chemicals
5. electric shock
6. cuts
7. damage to eyes by particles or chemicals
8. CPR
